Angular cheilitis, also known as cheilosis, angular stomatitis or perlèche, is a common dermatological condition marked by cracks forming around the corners (angles) of the mouth and skin dryness. It can cause some discomfort especially during eating and laughing and can trigger social anxiety in public places. This condition affects both men and women.

People with genetic disorders such as Down Syndrome are prone to angular cheilitis. People who suffer from ulcerative colitis, inflammatory bowel disease, Crohn disease, as well as those with sensitive or dry skin are more likely to catch the condition.

Causes of angular cheilitis

The causes of angular cheilitis vary with each individual. One or more of the following factors can bring about the condition.

  • The frequent dribbling of saliva on the mouth corners can cause eczematous cheilitis, a form of contact dermatitis.
  • Bacterial, viral or yeast infection which can intensify into cold sores, oral thrush, and impetigo.
  • Constantly dry or chapped lips
  • Lack of teeth in elderly people can lead to upper lip overhang around the mouth corners which can cause angular cheilitis.
  • Seasonal changes like winter and extreme summer heat. Overexposure to the sun can cause chapped lips. While it can bring some relief, wetting the dry lips with saliva can only aggravate the condition.
  • Topical applications like tretinoin and A vitamin derivatives can cause the skin to become dry.
  • Poor diet, dehydration, vitamin B2 deficiency, zinc and iron deficiency, and malnutrition caused by bulimia and anorexia nervosa can also cause angular cheilitis.
  • Poor oral and dental hygiene and improper facial care.
  • Exposure to allergens or irritants
  • Stress

The fissures around the mouth corners can split during severe condition and cause more damage on the skin surface. The opening and closing of the mouth can cause further damage and bleeding, which results in ulceration and the formation of crust. Medical treatment is recommended upon reaching this stage to lessen the risk of infection. Although oral medication and topical applications can help cure angular cheilitis, vitamins and natural remedies can hasten the healing process.

Angular cheilitis treatment

In most instances, angular cheilitis usually goes away by itself without the need for medical treatment. The physician determines the type of treatment required based on what brought about the infection. Below are some of the often prescribed medications to treat angular cheilitis.

Oral medications. These include oral antifungal medicines, antibiotics, and food supplements that contain riboflavin or vitamin B2. What’s more, the angles of the lips can be repaired with the use of filler injections or implants.

Some natural home remedies for angular cheilitis

There are certain natural home remedies that can help ease the symptomatic discomfort of angular cheilitis. Some of these natural cures involve the application of herbal preparations or blends made from various natural sources around the mouth corners. Be sure to choose the right one as treatment tends to vary with each individual.

Soaking the affected area in saline solution for a few minutes can help accelerate the healing time. The salt water solution prevents the development of bacteria and destroys the microorganisms in the affected area. Additionally, water with salt or chlorine can help prevent the formation of unsightly scabs or scars.

Another alternative treatment is cleaning the affected area with salt water and white vinegar applied with a cotton swab moistened with hydrogen peroxide. The mouth corners should be completely cleaned before a petroleum-based topical antibiotic could be applied.

Home Remedies For Canker Sores – Natural Remedy

Canker Sores, also known as Aphthous Stomatitis, are common ulcers that appear on the inside lining of the mouth, or even on the tongue. They are very different from cold sores caused by herpes virus, which appear on the lips. It hurt a lot while eating or talking, and are characterized by small white dots of about a centimeter or more with redness all around them. If not treated soon, these could cause a lot of discomfort and itching.

It usually occur in women and teenagers who normally undergo hormonal changes. Faulty or acidic foods too could be the cause of canker sores. Other reasons could be stress or anxiety, anemia, deficiency of nutrition like folic acid and B12, or lack of dental hygiene. In some cases, they could occur from an accidental injury in the mouth, like being hurt with a hard toothbrush or being bruised while eating hard wafers etc. Aphthous Stomatitis are not contagious, but some larger ones could be accompanied by fever.

Hot or spicy foods could be difficult to eat when one is suffering from canker sores. These sores could take 6-7 days to heal, but the more severe ones that appear in clusters and are bigger, could take longer. To solve the problem, there are some home remedies for canker sores that provide relief from the pain and itching.

A gargle of warm water with a little salt, 2-3 times a day gives immense relief. Also, rinsing one's mouth with aloe juice is one the simplest and most effective home remedies for Aphthous Stomatitis.

Mixing equal amounts of milk of magnesia and Benadryl and applying it on sores with a cotton swab reduces inflammation. Also, baking soda can be mixed in warm water, and the mouth can be rinsed with it several times during the day to get some relief.

A few drops of grapefruit extract mixed with water, to rinse the mouth, can be one of the most useful home remedies for canker sores. Moreover, applying tea tree oil on the sores is an excellent home remedy too.

Eating fresh and ripe papaya or chewing papaya leaves provides relief as well. Papaya tablets could also be chewed if fresh papaya is not available.

How To Get Rid Of Lip Blisters

If you would like to know how to get rid of lip blisters, it is important to understand that lip blisters are commonly misdiagnosed. Indeed, over 95% of what people perceive to be blisters on the lips are, in fact, a symptom of the very common condition known as Angular Cheilitis.

If you have cracks at the corners of the mouth which become very red and then take on a swollen whitish appearance, then these are easy to confuse with blistering. Although not life-threatening, these sores can be very painful indeed as eating, drinking and speaking are all everyday activities which worsen the condition as the skin never seems to get chance to heal.

Bacteria thrives in damp, warm conditions and there are often tiny folds of skin at the corners of the lips where moisture, in minute quantities, can collect. Moisture commonly dribbles out of the mouth, caused by ill-fitting dentures or braces, or by finger sucking and pen biting. Once the bacteria takes hold, it can be very difficult to eradicate and often develops into a fungal infection. This is precisely why many sufferers find that they get one outbreak after another of lip blisters.

Learning how to stop the moisture and kill off the bacteria are key to knowing how to get rid of lip blisters. If dentures or a badly fitting brace are the problem, take steps to get them adjusted as soon as possible. If the issue lies with pen sucking or finger biting, then discourage the practice by painting the offending objects with bitter tasting anti-nail biting solution.

Bacteria and fungal infection require oxygen to survive so preventing oxygen from getting to the area is the best way to get rid of lip blisters.

If you have had cracked lip corners or scabs for more than a couple of days, it is likely that the condition has taken hold. If you would like to look at pictures that can help you verify your own condition, you can download this simple and effective overnight cure from the Angular Chelitis Foundation. This cure will dry out the condition within hours, providing fast and permanent relief.

Frequently Asked Questions

Sores at corners of mouth…Angular cheilitis help?
I have painful sores at both corners of mouth…the medical term ” Angular cheilitis ” or “perleche”.
I have the correct diagnosis….it’s not herpes or cold sores. I searched on the web for a remedy, but couldn’t find any help. Do you know of a natural treatment,or medicines to cure this?
I have been using lip balm and an expensive ointment called Abrevea…it has not helped at all.
Then I heard your supposed to keep it dry as possible…I don’t know what to do!!

    • ANSWER:
I too have experienced this, especially when it starts to get colder outside. I’ve used the Abreva & every other lip balm/chapstick out there! The only product that has ever worked for me to heal the severely sore corners of my mouth was “CARMEX”. Its sold at most pharmacies and pretty cheap too. This stuff has been around for ages. Recently, I suffered from those sore corners of the mouth for about 3 weeks, seemed like every time I smiled the skin in the corner of my lips ripped open and got worse! I was using regular old chapstick, so I went and got some Burts Bees lip balm and still nothing was helping. My mom told me about the Carmex, so I made another trip to the drug store and picked some up (it comes in a tube or a small, round cannister-I got the tube). About three days after using it (which was 4x a day or more) the corners of my mouth felt so much better and were pretty much back to normal, so if you havent tried the Carmex yet, def get some. I swear by it. Some other good things to remember if you dont already know, do not lick your lips, especially the corners of them and try putting the Carmex on right before you go to bed, that way it stays on your lips through the night, thats what I did and I would wake up with soft, non-chapped lips every morning..I loved it! So I hope this helps:) & Good luck!

I need help with angular cheilitis treatment and prevention please!!?
I’m a 17 year old male. I used to have a problem with chapped lips way back in the day until I used a chap stick consistently. Over the past handful of months, I’ve started to be plagued by a new problem: angular cheilitis. At (seemingly) random intervals, my lips/skin around my lips have dried out and the corners of my mouth get cracked per symptoms of the cheilitis.

In the past, I’ve slowly increased my arsenal of treatment. I take a multivitamin every day, and it’s gotten to the point where I also take a B-complex vitamin to aid in skin repair. I drink plenty of water every day, and I use balms such as Blistex every here and there to keep my lips from drying out. It seems like whenever I finally get rid of this angular cheilitis, it takes a week (if that) and it comes right back!

it’s starting to make day-to-day life extremely unenjoyable and I get way too self-conscious, and it hurts moderately to severely from time to time…I need better ways to fight this, dry it out, and make it go away and stay away. Any tips or recommendations??

    • ANSWER:
Although the exact cause of angular cheilitis isn’t yet known, ferrous sulfate, B-1 and B-12 are recommended as supplements. It is known that bacteria and fungus are involved but it hasn’t been determined whether the cracks occur first and then are inflicted by bacteria or fungi, or whether the cracks itself are caused by fungi or bacteria.

Topical corticosteroids, like Cortizone-10, can alleviate the symptoms but it can’t be used on a continuous basis indefinitely. Non-cortisone anti-inflammation creams like Elidel and Protopic can be used on a long-term basis.

There are websites that advertise products that “cure” the condition but from what I’ve looked at the products are costly and I can’t dig up any scientific proof that they actually work. And at the website for the Angular Cheilitis Foundation, you have to make a donation before you can access the site itself.

You can try an antibiotic ointment or antifungal ointment. If after 10days one hasn’t worked, try the other. Upgrade your oral care. Brush at least twice a day if not three times, floss regularly and use a non-alcohol oral rinse. For this I recommend Periogard or any other rinses that are chlorhexidine-based. Your dentist may carry such a product so you should call & find out. Otherwise, pick it up at your local market pharmacy & order it if you have to. If you wear braces or a retainer, make sure you clean them extremely well on a daily basis. Even the gum you chew can make a difference. Gum that contains chlorhexidine is hard to find in the U.S. but you can find gum with xylitol and this helps. Look for both online. And of course keep your lips & surrounding skin well moisturized at all times.

In the end, there’s no one single solution. It can be a matter of trial and error to find what works for you.

    Angular Cheilitis EMERGENCY! I’m desperate!?
ok, so for the past week and a half I have what can only be angular cheilitis. It started as just annoying chapped corners of my mouth and for the past week it has gotten so bad I won’t even go out in public and it hurts like hell
These are the steps I’ve taken so far, if anyone knows anything that will help or that i’m missing PLEASE help! I can’t take it anymore =* (

I have been taking vitamin B12 (for the riboflavin) & Echniacea (to boost my immune system)
I wash the affected areas with anti-bacterial soap and pat dry with a kleenex (1 for each side)
I have kept the area dry aside from a few light applications of 1% hydrocortisone cream each day & minimal petroleum jelly when the dryness becomes irritating.
i wash my hands and sanitize my hands EVERY time they touch the area. It’s gotten to the point of where my knuckles are do dry they’re cracking from washing my hands so much.
what am i doing wrong? it just won’t go away and it looks horrible, i’m ready to break down & cry.
    thanks for your help.

    Herpes or Angular cheilitis?
I occasionally get a small sore on the corner of the corner of my mouth. It has been only on 1 side each time but has occurred periodically for around a year. I do generally have somewhat chapped lips and using generic antibiotic ointment cream and vaseline has kept them in control. Seems to be much worse when my skin is very dry. I don’t get any other sores in any other areas around my mouth. I have been worried that it was oral herpes and stumbled upon a few articles about Angular Cheilitis. I’ve never found any pictures of herpes that matched what I am seeing and the pictures I see of Angular Cheilitis look much closer to it. It has been worrying me and I am considering getting it looked it. Does this sound like herpes or Angular Cheilitis?

    • ANSWER:
      Hello Anonymous,

You certainly have that nasty Angular Cheilitis, but there are things you need to know about angular cheilitis to stop your worrying. The very first of your Angular Cheilitis Symptoms is itching with a rash at the corners on the mouth. At this point it really is mildly disturbing however, not a severe issue.

The itching may possibly trigger the person to repeatedly lick their lips in particular in cold temperatures to get some relief. This need to be ignored as it’ll only worsen it.

On the other hand, if Angular Cheilitis is suspected, it needs to be treated right away. It’ll develop at unique rates for diverse individuals.

For those who are malnourished, iron or vitamin B deficient or are afflicted with hepatitis or diabetes, it’ll develop into infected quicker.

Hope this helps you Anonymous, don’t worry if you didn’t do anything that would cause Herpes then that would definitely not to happen.

Are Your Lips Getting Chapped By Weather Or Something Else?

Chapped Lips

Most of us believe that getting chapped lips is purely a problem of the weather. The cold weather or the wind causes chapping of the lips and a good moisturizer will treat the chapping and bring lips back to the earlier look. Chapping may cause problems. Chapping is not only a cosmetic problem, but it also causes problem in eating too. Lips may hurt if they get cracked and blood comes out of those cracks. Is chapping of lips only because of change of weather? No, many skin diseases and drugs may cause it. Learn more to keep your kisses beautiful.

Lips- How the lip skin is different?

Lips do not have sebaceous glands. Lips also do not have any sweat glands. The dead layer on the epidermis of lip skin is much thinner compared to body skin. Because of absence of sebaceous glands, lips are not protected by the sebum. The thin
dead layer also makes them more susceptible to damage from weather and other factors.

Chapped Lips- Reasons

Weather is one of the main reasons. The cold weather dries the lips. Similarly if the air is short of humidity as happens in air conditioned areas, or heated ares, lips lose moisture. This loss of moisture chaps the lips. Wind can also chap the lips. If you walk out on windy days without protecting your lips, you may get chapped lips.

Other reasons of chapped lips are-

Vitamin A:
Please look at your medicines? Are you taking more than required amount of vitamin A? Are you using any skin care product containing retinoids, on lips? That may be one cause of chapped lips. Vitamin A in excess, peels and dries the skin.

Psoriasis and lichen planus can create chapped lips. The lips may get affected by these diseases and unless you treat the cause, the chapped look will not go.

Candida infection may chap the lips at the corners. You will have to talk to your doctor and find out the cause of the cracks at the corners. Cracks at the corners of the lips may also form due to saliva and allergies.

You may be allergic to lip care products. You may also be having contact allergy to some foods, which may cause allergic contact dermatitis on your lips. Some medications may be causing chapped lips. Talk to your doctor about that. Other reasons may be allergy to candies, flavors, etc. Chapping may be because of allergies, side-effects of medications or skin problems. Take care of these and protect your lips in cold weather and dry air.

    • ANSWER:

i have really bad dry cracked lips on the side of my mouth anyone help?
they’re really badly cracked on the side of my mouth. it scabs over too, and makes it look worse. sometimes i peel the scab off. any ideas?
i’ve been using blistex relief cream that i got today. but any other help would be great too.

    • ANSWER:
Whatever you do, don’t peel the scabs, or this will undo all of the hard work that your skin does to try and heal itself. Dry lips are a sign that you are not drinking enough, so be sure to drink plenty of water every day. Carry on putting the relief cream on, that will help. When they are just flaky (don’t do this on the scabs) get a dry toothbrush and massage your lips in circles, then apply a load of petroleum jelly and they will be super smooth.

How do I heal a cracked lip (side of my mouth, can’t open to eat!)?
not really my lip, more like the side of my mouth. I can barely eat because everytime i open my mouth, the wound breaks open. now it’s even bigger, and looks awful! it looks like someone hooked my mouth open wider than it should be. i’ve been putting blistex on it but that’s not helping.

well that happens to me sometimes. i use aquaphor (my lips can get very easily chapped) and apply it twice a day. its like vaseline. so if u dont have that, i would highly recommend vaseline. put alot of it on too, its very soothing and try not to open your mouth much ok? hope this helps! (i did this when i got my wisdom teeth removed since i also had a cracked lip on the side of my mouth but i used aquaphor instead)

Prof Park, Jae Woo, a Korean scientist is the originator of SuJok and Onnuri Medicine, an exceptionaldiscovery, who after many years of careful observation and clinical experiences developed a new system of therapy using only the hands and feet to effect the same results as body acupuncture. He found a complete correspondence system representing the whole body, on the hands and the feet. In Korean, Su means “Hand,” and Jok means “Feet.”
The advantage of this system is its simplicity, safety and efficiency. It is easy to learn, and the speed of response is often dramatic. It employs no forbidden or dangerous points, and is therefore suitable for use by paramedics and laypersons for self-treatment.
In addition to serving their normal function as appendages of the four limbs, the hands and feet themselves represent a small mirror image of the human.

Chapped Cracked Lips That Do Not Heal – It's Probably Angular Cheilitis

If you have chapped cracked lips that do not heal, then it is likely that you have the common but very painful condition known as Angular Cheilitis. Although not life threatening, this is a very persistent and aggressive skin condition which many people find very difficult to shake off.

Caused by a bacterial infection, if left untreated, it can easily develop into a full blown yeast infection and many then find that each attack becomes more severe and lasts for longer until it is an almost permanent feature. Of course, not only do sufferers have the pain to deal with, but Angular Cheilitis is in a very prominent position on the face which can cause embarrassment.

However, the condition can be brought under control. The edges of the mouth are the perfect breeding ground for bacteria as they can be both damp and warm. This is very much an issue if there is a tendency to drool or dribble. This can happen due to badly fitting dentures or mouth braces, pen biting or thumb sucking. If any of these apply, then take steps to have dentures/braces corrected and try to discourage pen biting/thumb sucking, possibly by painting a bitter anti-nail biting liquid on the offending object!

Chapped cracked lips that do not heal can be managed by drying up the affected area. This will starve the bacteria or fungus of oxygen, without which it simply cannot survive. For most people this means surprisingly fast relief-often within a few hours.

Please visit Angular Cheilitis Treatment for natural treatment for chapped cracked lips that do not heal.

Popping Herpes Blisters

Popping herpes blisters occur when herpes blisters erupt. Herpes blisters are caused by the HSV or herpes simplex virus. This virus is of two categories – HSV-1 and HSV-2. Type 1 causes mouth sores and on the lip area. Genital herpes is caused by the type 2 virus. It is very important that you treat herpes as soon as outbreaks occur to avoid scarring, pain, and even certain complications.

Once you get the virus, it will not leave your body but it will remain dormant until it is triggered once more. You must be aware that herpes is very contagious and you can transmit the infection through mucous, saliva, and skin. Even a herpes blister can be transmitted easily and it can infect many individuals.

Herpes blisters are primarily due to the type 1 virus. Cold sores are also caused by such virus. The infection can happen at any age range and very young kids are more prone to it. Previous herpes sufferers can already tell if an outbreak will occur because they are already familiar with the signs like numbness, tingling sensations, and itching. First time infected individuals are not familiar with such signs or symptoms and so it would a great help if they know some useful information regarding this contagious condition.

When the herpes blisters erupt, you can feel severe pain. But don’t worry because healing will begin soon. As days pass, you will notice the blisters becoming less noticeable and smaller. When the blisters turn to gray ulcers, scabbing will develop and once these scabs dry off, healing is completed.

During the popping of herpes blisters, you must keep your body hydrated at all times. Blisters found on the mouth and lip areas can be easily treated using natural remedies like herbs. To shorten the outbreaks, gargle a baking soda wash and increase your vitamin C intake. To prevent spreading of the blisters, you have to wash your hands thoroughly especially if you’re able to touch the affected area.

Herpes blisters can also develop in the genital area. The virus responsible for such outbreaks is the HSV-2. Sexually active individuals are more prone to this kind of infection. Before the outbreak appears, the infected person will usually feel itching, tenderness, and pain. In men, the herpes blisters will typically appear on their penis while in women, the herpes blisters appear on the cervix and vaginal area. Severe outbreaks can even cause sores on the buttocks and thighs.

The healing process varies from one person to another. If you want to shorten the length of the outbreaks, you can ask your doctor about anti viral medicines and if you want, you can also incorporate chemical free and natural products like healing herbs. You can’t cure herpes blisters but you can control the outbreaks and kill the pain.

There are also topical applications available in the market which usually contain herbal extracts and these are quite effective in treating popping herpes blisters.

Educate yourself about <a target=”_new” rel=”nofollow” onclick=”javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackPageview', '/outgoing/article_exit_link/634643']);” href=””>popping herpes blisters</a> especially if you’re not infected with the virus. That way, you can prevent or avoid herpes. By consulting a doctor, you can effectively treat the infection and minimize the outbreak impacts. Seek medical advice if you feel any of the signs of herpes blisters. Don’t wait until the outbreaks show up; treat them as soon as you feel the herpes signs.

Frequently Asked Questions

    Popping Cold Sore? yes!?
So I was told not to pop a cold sore because it’s bad and blah blah blah… BUT I want everyone to know that I did and it cured my cold sore fast… I woke up Wednesday morning with a nasty cold sore on my lips, that night I looked all over the internet and decided to pop it & get rid of it since I had a big presentation on Friday. So I got a needle; let it sit in alcohol for 10 min, then I grabbed some Listerine mouth wash and Merthiolate (Mexican purple bottle from mexico- it actually stains the infected area purple) & some petroleum jelly.

I carefully popped it while holding a cotton swab below it so that the liquid would NOT spread anywhere else on my face. Then a deeply cleaned the remaining with Listerine (mouth-wash) & applied some Merthiolate. My lip was kinda still swollen so I took some ibuprofen to help with the swelling and ice packs work too. Anyway, then I filled the infected remains with petroleum jelly and placed a bandage over it during the whole night.

Thursday morning it was almost completely gone, but I repeated the steps anyway, by cleaning the cold sore with Listerine (mouth-wash) only then applying petroleum jelly once more… put a clear skin tone bandage over infected area and wen to skool with bandage. People couldn’t even tell that I once had a cold sore. All they barely even noticed was a bandage but only if they got close to me cuz it was one of those clear-skin-colored bandages.

Anyway… Thursday night I repeated what I did with Wednesday night… & omg on Friday morning it was disappeared-GONE… you could only see lightly reddish where the cold-sore once was but some lipstick did the remaining of the work and it worked wonders!!!

(Oh yes I drank milk like a new-born baby) I kept drinking milk throughout the day and night. All the water I usually drink was replaced with milk and more milk.)

In other words; I woke up Wednesday morning with Mt. St. Helen’s (cold sore) on my lips and Friday morning it was ADIOS… GONE!

I just thought I would share my experience to help others with a FAST remedy to cold sores!

    • ANSWER:
Instead of popping a cold sore and risking potential scaring, prevent them with the ABCDEs.
A – keep a tube of Abreva in your purse and apply every 2 hours when tingling starts.
B – get plenty of bed rest every night.
      C – take daily vitamin C supplements.
      D – take daily vitamin D3 supplements.
      E – take daily vitamin E supplements.

At what tim do cold sores on the lips hurt?
At what stages does the legion hurt? Does it hurt when you apply pressure to it before it has popped? Does it hurt when you’re not touching it? What about when it is touched by hot or cold items or water in the shower? The more detailed the answer, the better.

I have a blemish on my lip but it does not hurt at at all.

    Thank you.

    • ANSWER:

What causes cold sores on your lips?
I know they are a herpes strain, but what causes them to come out? Is it stress, vitamin deficiency, or what?

I get one then it heals and another one pops up at a different spot on my lip. I just want to know what is causing them all to come out now.

Thanks! 10 pts for best answer!

    • ANSWER:
Stress is a big trigger for outbreaks, definitely.

There are some dietary things that can tip the scales toward outbreaks, too… foods high in the amino acid ARGININE, especially.

Increasing your intake of LYSINE-rich foods to tip the arginine/lysine balance will help to control outbreaks. Here’s a link with some really good info:

I sometimes get sores on my lips. Is this a cold sore or herpes simplex 1?
The thing is they never get like a blister that last for days and pop open and dry up. I just get little red bumps that seem to go away in the same day… Does anyone know what the hell it is?

    • ANSWER:
Cold sores are caused by the Herpes virus (most commonly Type 1 but sometimes Type 2). However, there are other types of sores such as canker sores that are not related to Herpes. This is a great article:

What kind of bumps could you get on your lip besides cold sores or herpes?
I have had this little bump on my lip for a few months now, it doesn’t hurt, and you can hardly even see it unless I stretch my lips thin and then it looks like a pimple but won’t pop. It doesn’t hurt, but it doesn’t seem to go away just get so small you can even see it and then every now and then it gets bigger. I dont think it is a cold sore or herpes or anything. Any idea what it could be or how I can get rid of it?

    • ANSWER:
sounds to me like a cyst. You ought to go to a doctor and have the doc check that out. I had a friend that got something like what you describe it bothered him for months he finally went to a doctor and found out it was a cancer.

Unfortunately, while it was only a surface bump it was much more advanced and had unknowingly spread throughout his neck and throat area. He went through ton’s of chemotherapy and radiation treatments for several months. This went on for a couple of years. We buried him this last summer at the age of 23.

It really sucked cause he lived a clean life, didnt smoke, or chew tobacco, didn’t drink alcohol, or do any drugs.
